New Partner Family Selected for 24th Habitat Home in Wimberley

Wimberley Valley Habitat for Humanity Welcomes New Partner Family for 24th Home

Wimberley Valley Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce its newest partner family, Lily Mendoza and her son, Gianni, who will soon call Habitat’s 24th home in Wimberley their own.

Lily, who grew up in Wimberley, is deeply connected to the community and is excited to establish a permanent home for her family. Her son, Gianni, is an 8th grader at Danforth Junior High. Together, they look forward to the stability and sense of belonging that comes with homeownership.

“This is a dream come true!” said Lily. “I've always envisioned being able to provide a stable home for my son, my pets, and myself right here in the heart of Wimberley. I couldn’t have made it this far without God, faith, and perseverance.”

Lily says she is most looking forward to “growing roots in a place where I grew up and love, sharing this beautiful home with the people I love.”

Wimberley Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Each Habitat home represents not just a house, but a foundation for stability, opportunity, and growth for families like Lily and Gianni.

“We are excited to welcome Lily and Gianni as our 24th partner family,” said Lamar Sellers, Wimberley Valley Habitat for Humanity Board President. “Their story is a positive reminder of why we do this work, to help families build strength and stability through safe, affordable housing right here in our community.”

Construction on the home will begin soon, with the support of volunteers, donors, and community partners. Wimberley Valley Habitat encourages the community to join in by volunteering at the build site or the Wimberley Village Thrift Store, or by making a contribution to help bring this dream home to life.
